Thanks to Private Eye
The Mayor should have disclosed his “interest” in LOCOG. The Mayor of London is one of the three “members” of LOCOG the private company limited by guarantee. The other two members are the Secretary of State for Culture Media & Sport and the British Olympic Association. So, not really a private company. The Mayor should have explained why his London Plan applies everywhere except when it gets in the way of what LOCOG wants. The members of a private company limited by guarantee are meant to control the company, not the company control them – in this case, LOCOG control the Mayor of London. Conflict of interest.
